How do we achieve such cost savings?
- Direct Hydrogen Production: Unlike conventional hydrogen production with an electrolyser, we focus on integrating the electrolyser directly at the wind or solar source to produce hydrogen. By skipping DC to AC and AC to DC power electronics conversions, our hydrogen is produced more efficiently and more affordable.
- Leveraging Pipeline Storage: Hydrogen is then transported through pipelines, which is 20 times cheaper than transporting electricity. In addition, we use the storage capacity of pipelines to our advantage. By adjusting the pressure, we stabilize the effects of production fluctuations and ensure a steady supply of hydrogen.
